Light or Dark At the Press of a Button with Remote Control Shutters

At www.opennshut.co.uk I have now introduced a remote control option on my Elite basswood or cedar shutters.  Ideal for windows that are not within easy reach, such conservatory roofs or in a large property over stairs, remote control shutters are great for those who just want to be able to alter the light levels without having to leave the comfort of the sofa or their bed.  Remote control shutters will definitely appeal to those who like their gadgets, and for those with programmable remotes for televisions or other equipment you may be able to add your shutters to your single remote. 

Remote Control Shutters - the technical stuff

The remote control shutters allow you to alter the louvre position to adjust the amount of light entering your home without having to reach the shutters.  There are 8 pre-set positions on the shutter remote control from which you can select your light levels, and these are operated using a small remote control pad.  You can also program one remote control to operate several sets of shutters in a room, or even the entire house, so at the press of a button all your shutters can be opened, closed or adjusted.

The remote control shutters are battery operated, with a small well concealed battery panel in the back of the shutter.  The louvre action is controlled by the middle louvre of the shutter, which in turn powers the other louvers to move in sequence with it.  The control rod also allows you to adjust the shutter manually should you wish to.  Each shutter has a small sensor at the front of the shutter to allow the remote to operate.

While there are some limits, the minimum panel height is 750mm and maximum 3000mm, these will fit most windows and shapes.  Remote control plantation shutters are only available for the Elite or cedar range, not for standard shutters.

The benefits of having remote control shutters are obvious to those of us who like our gadgets, but include:

• The ability to adjust light levels at a distance and without having to access the shutters
• Ideal for those with physical limitations or disabilities
