How to fit battens

Easy reading

Battens are used to space the louvres away from window handles, or used to fit the interior shutters away from the window towards the front of the recess so they can wrap around the wall.

The top, bottom and two side battens can be supplied to the height and width of the window opening or slightly longer which will require cutting the battens to size.

Battens can be screwed directly to the window frame (wooden or plastic) or sideways into the wall.  This creates a wooden sub frame onto which you can attach the shutter frame.

Battens can be angled to suit shaped windows or angled window reveals, and they can be rebated so they fit neatly over beading, cut out to fit around tiles or used as in-fills.
