How to fit louvre shutters onto UPVC windows

UPVC double glazed windows require battens to be fitted before the louvre shutters, as these are used to space the louvre blades away from the window handles. The battens create a wooden sub frame onto which the shutter frame is fitted as this makes it really easy to fit the louvre shutters.
