How to fit louvered shutters onto wooden casement square bay windows

Easy reading

Normally the windows are split into 3 or 4 sections at the front plus two side windows.  Wooden casement square bays are simple to fit with louvered shutters as generally they don’t have handles that protrude which allow the frame to fit directly to the wooden window.

Some variations can be found with wooden casement bay windows, mainly with the number of window sections at the front.  It is common to use Tposts on large windows to divide the number of louvered shutters up, to match the layout of the window.

With square bay windows it’s important that the shutters line up with each other when they meet at the corners, to ensure this happens extra clearance is deducted from the height.

Simply fix the shutter frames directly onto the wooden window frames, square corner battens are used to connect the frames together where they meet.
