Easy reading

Choose how much light you require coming through your interior shutters with 3 different sizes of slat.

Small 47mm - Medium 64mm - Large 89mm

The horizontal slats called ‘louvre’ or ‘louver’ blades are oval in cross-section, and are available in Small, Medium and Large.

The most often requested by customers is our standard size ‘Medium’ (64mm).
 
This standard/Medium louvre blade will let plenty of light into your room as well as provide a stylish and modern look.

Technical stuff

Louvre sizes are:

• Small:    47mm wide
• Medium: 64mm wide
• Large:    89mm wide

The louvres swivel on nylon pins and are controlled/connected to each other by a vertical control/connecting rod.

Remote Control

The remote control option is controlled by one hand held remote with 8 preset positions.  A small sensor is visible in the front of the shutter, the back of the shutter stile houses the motor and batteries.  Please note, larger side stiles are used for this option. A solar option is also now available. 

The remote option is only available with 64mm and 89mm louvre blades on Elite or hardwood.

Blackout

The interior shutters have a larger frame to allow a small pleated blind to be fitted behind the frame, when the blind is raised the louvers can be adjusted to allow light to enter but the blind cannot be seen behind the shutter. 

When blackout is required the blind is lowered and the louvre blades closed to block out as much light as possible.

Louvre Size

The most popular size is medium (64mm), as this lets in plenty of light while still giving a modern look. 

If you have leaded lights medium or large louvers look best, as they are simple but the large louvers still allow you to see the beauty of the leaded patterns. 

Large louvers will protrude further out from the shutter frame so you may need to include battens, a larger frame or build-out with your order to ensure they do not hit the window - contact me if you would like some advice by registering and uploading photos of your windows or calling me

Remote Control

Ideal if you have a window that is difficult to reach, or for those who just like to be able to alter the light level from the comfort of the sofa!  
One hand held remote can be programmed to alter all the louvers in a room, even if there are several windows. 

Blackout

These are great if you have a south or east facing room where the sunlight wakes you early, for those who work shifts, a childs bedroom/nursery or if you need total darkness to get a good nights sleep.

The blind fits neatly behind the shutter so doesn't alter the stylish look when the blind is raised, and is little different to a closed shutter when viewed from the outside when the blind is lowered.  Much more stylish than a blackout blind alone, which can still allow light to enter around the side of the blind, but still gives the appearance of interior shutters.
