Top opening

Easy reading

This option splits the internal shutters in half like a stable door, known in the trade as tier on tier.

Both the top and bottom shutter panels can open independently of each other.

The main advantage being you can open the top set of panels whilst leaving the bottom set closed for added privacy.

Please note: Enter the height measurement of the bottom set of shutter panels in the dividing rail box and select ‘yes’ for top opening on the order form.

Technical stuff

Measuring

Measure from the window sill up to the top point where you would like the internal shutters to open.  This is so that when you look across the top of the panels you do not see any of the window frame behind them.

Advice

If the window has a horizontal rail, I would recommend lining-up the bottom set to the highest point on the window rail.  Top opening looks best when the window is higher than it is wider (Portrait style).

Order form

Enter the height measurement of the bottom set of panels in the dividing rail box and select ‘yes’ for top opening on the order form.

Sams tips

Measure from the sill up to the top part of any horizontal rail on the window.

Then, when the top half of the internal shutters are in the open position, you will not see any of the window rail behind. I suggest the design or folding be based on the layout of the window and the room in which they are to be fitted.
