Colours and wood stains for fitted interior window shutters

The best advice when considering the colour of your interior window shutters is to match the window colour rather than the walls or flooring.  Most windows are white, and Silk White is the most popular colour.

Benefits of white interior window shutters:

•  You can change the Décor of your room without having to respray the shutters
•  Provides maximum light reflection into your room
•  Adds value to your property
•  Blends with your window frame for a more fitted finish
•  Match other windows in the property
•  Creates a bright appearance when viewed from outside

Matching stains to wood floors

Stains can be matched to existing flooring with a range of standard stains available. The natural oiled cedar can be a nice option when matching Oak or Pine flooring.  Going for the lighter option, as the interior window shutters will seem darker once fitted to the windows, will appear a better match and you will also benefit from some extra light reflection with lighter colours.

Depending on the size of the room, a wooden stained finish to your windows can be over powering and cut down on light.

Your fitter will bring a colour key ring to your survey to show you samples of the colours and stains that we offer.

Custom colours

Customising shutter colours works well in modern homes and can also offer a funky unique look. Interior designers often choose custom colours to work in with their designs.

Colour matches for Dulux or Farrow & Ball colours to blend with your colour schemes or features are available.   Other paint colours can be matched but may require a colour swatch.

Please note, custom colours are not guaranteed to be an exact match to any samples provided or colour codes, and there is an additional charge for this service.

Shutter Hinge colour

As standard the colour of the shutter hinges will be chosen to blend with your colour choice.  There are a few standard colours to complement colours such as White, Pearl and Bisque. Antique Brass, Bright Brass, Stainless Steel and Black are also available when choosing stains.

If you have a question or would like a small sample of a colour before your survey you can send an email, call Sam or request a survey for interior window shutters and put a note in the notes box.
