The Elite shutter is one of the most popular choices for customers requiring a professional fitting service. Made of engineered lightweight timber it is very stable,
strong and
warp resistant and can be fitted on shaped windows, patio and French doors, sliding sash and UPVC double glazed windows. The Elite shutter is available in a range of colours and stains
Standard
The Standard shutter is made from MDF with a plastic coating providing a
moisture resistant durable finish. This makes it suitable for
Kitchens,
Bathrooms or
Playrooms. If you are on a tight budget, many customers will choose MDF for upstairs windows and wood for downstairs.
Specialist Interior Shutters Materials
Basswood
Basswood interior shutters are a very popular choice, as they are available in a wider range of colours and stains. Basswood is strong and stable with a good looking grain. However, there are different grades of materials to choose from, and
Grade A Basswood offers a better resistance to warping with high strength that will last and not deteriorate in the sun. Cheaper versions of Basswood shutters are manufactured in a different way, with fewer coats of paint, thinner side stiles and weaker joints.
Cedar
A stunning shutter made of solid cedar (not engineered). Boasting a beautiful grain and colour, available in a lacquered or oiled finish. A great choice for customers wanting a wooden shutter to blend in with wooden floors or furniture. Very light weight, cedar can be fitted on any window, shaped or rectangular. Ideal for fitted interior shutters on wide openings, Patio and French doors.
ABS (Plastic)
Ideal for kitchens and bathrooms, a plastic covered wooden core with a hardwearing finish. The plastic is durable and can be easily wiped clean. Also perfect for playrooms or where regular cleaning may be necessary.
Your fitter will have samples of each of the materials when they complete your survey, or if you have a question about materials you can include it in the notes box when requesting a survey for interior shutters.
