Width: Measure in 3 places - top, middle and bottom. Take the smallest measurement.
Height: Measure in 3 places - left, centre and right. Take the largest measurement.
Advice: Look out for large handles that protrude. Measure in front of these. Measure in between any tiles fitted in the recess. Check the reveal does not get smaller towards the room. Measure in front of any plastic trim.
