When your windows open inwards, it will restrict where you can fit the shutters.
If you want to open the windows you would need to use a Deco frame and fit the shutters on the outside of the recess.
If you only want to open the windows a little bit and you have a fairly deep recess, the shutters could be fitted just inside the recess but towards the front, this would allow the windows to open until they touched the back of the shutters. A Z frame could also be used when fitting at the front of the recess.
Battens can be used to customise the fitting, depending on the style of your window. Shutters can be hung inside the battens, this allows you to shape the battens to suit the window.
