Project Description

Small 47mm louvred window shutters.

47mm

The  47mm louvre blade will not let as much light into the room as the larger sizes. The more popular and current trend are medium or large louvres that let in lots of light. Unless your trying to match some existing louvre sizes, we suggest choosing a larger louvre.

The 47mm louvre slat does not protrude past the back of a standard L frame, this does allow for small protruding handles.

Louvre protrusion:

The following drawings show the 47mm louvre protrusion with the 3 L frame sizes:

Technical Shutter Drawing of 60mm L frame - 47mm louvre

Tips:

This is a useful size louvre when fitting shutters directly onto a door or window without using a frame as the blade usually has room to swivel within the recessed glass area.

Medium 64mm louvred window shutter

64mm

The  64mm louvre is a more traditional size, mainly ordered now to match existing shutters.

The 64mm louvres do not protrude past the back of a standard 46mm L Frame.

Available options with this size blade:

  • Centre control rod (as standard)
  • Off set control rod
  • Hidden tilt rods
  • Remote control

Tips:

On Sash windows the staff bead can protrude a little and may stop the louvre from tilting, as the 64mm blade sits very close to the back of the shutter frame.  You may need to adjust where the louvred window shutters fit or use the Medium shutter frame.

Large 89mm louvred window shutter

Large 89mm

The large 89mm louvred shutter is one of the most popular blade sizes. It suits medium to large windows and Patio doors.  You get maximum light, an ultra modern feel, with a great view out of the shutters.

The 89mm slat from the louvred window shutters do not protrude past the back of a medium L Frame.

Available options with this size blade:

  • Centre control rod (as standard)
  • Off set control rod
  • Hidden control rod
  • Remote control louvres

Tips:

They generally require a medium L Frame

They suit windows with leaded lights

They look great with hidden control rods
