CAMBER DECO FRAME
The Camber Deco frame is a decorative shutter frame that look more like a picture frame, designed to fit directly onto the wall. This type of frame is suggested for inward opening windows or doors as its possible to install the frame so none of the frame overlaps inside the recess. There are only two types of Deco frame, the Camber and Ridge Deco, they both do the same job, they just have different designs and sizes.
The Camber frame is 67mm wide, this is default and more popular style frame.
SILL PLATES – Deco frames can be ordered with bottom Sill Plates.
MEASURING – The Camber Deco frames are measured right from the very outer edge of the frame, you can allow for the frame to fully surround the recess so no part of the frame protrudes, or when allowed the default option is to leave the 15.9mm light stop overlapping the recess, this will hide any out of level doors or windows.
DOORWAYS – If you have skirting board, you can measure the frame so that the light block of the frame covers the cut section of skirting board. These are also good frames for the skirting board to fit against due to the added side depth.
BUILDOUTS – Build-outs on these frames are added to the 50.8mm wide sections of the frame as standard, they do not cover the whole back section like other frames as standard. You can request the buildouts to finish short of the bottom frame so the frame steps over a skirting board.
FIXING – Deco frames have removable inserts running around the front of the frame so they are easily fixed directly to the surrounding wall. Note, that the waterproof ABS shutter frame does not have this removable insert. These are shallow frames, so be aware of the louvre protrusion.
FITTING CLEARANCE – Unlike the other frames where you have deducted fitting clearance, with these frames you add on the amount you want the frame to overlap the recess, on the Camber frame for example if you have measured the recess size, just add 100mm to the width and 50mm to the height if you want the 15.9mm light stop to run around recess.
FRAME LOUVRE CLEARANCE
- Small 64mm louvre = -12mm
- Medium 76mm louvre = -18mm
- Large 89mm louvre = -25mm
(The amount of louvre blade that protrudes past the back edge of the frame)
