HANG STRIPS
To customise your fitting and to allow you to adapt to different windows or shutter designs, you can choose to fit your shutters using side battens or hang strips. This is a simple side batten with no built-in light stops, this means there are no built-in magnets for the shutters to close against. Hang strips can be fitted with L shaped magnet backstops, but this still might limit how windows open if they are likely to hit one of the L shaped brackets. It’s also possible to use side magnets to help keep the shutters in their closed position.
The smallest hang strip depth is 27mm, so its perfect for hanging a shutter tight to a window or door frame where you’re limited on recess depth. Hang strips are useful face fitting or inward opening windows where you need to reduce the frame width at the sides to make room for the window to tilt inwards. You can mix side hang strips with top and bottom L frames so you can still benefit from backstops and magnets. If you do mix the frames, they will be butt jointed in the corners rather than mitred.
