T-POST FOLDING
A Tpost is an extra vertical post fitted within the main shutter frame that shutters can be hinged from. They can be used horizontally or vertically within a shutter frame. A shutter fitted to a Tpost opens the same way as a normal window shutter. A typical wide window with two side openers and a wide section in the centre would fold as follows: L-T-LR-T-R (L= Folding Left, T = Tpost, R = Folding Right)
T-posts are a great way to match your shutters to the window style and they make it easy to access side windows on wide windows. Shutters can be hinged to the Tposts and be opened from either side of a Tpost. When ordering Tpost folding on the order form, Tposts are listed as a ‘T’, and folding either side of the Tpost will be listed as L of R, so L = left, R = Right and T = Tpost.
T-POST LIMITATIONS – There are standard width limitations between the Tposts, these vary depending on the shutter type. If you are hinging a single or double panel between two Tposts, then the single panel limit will apply. If you are hinging two bi-folding panels between Tposts, then the bi-folding limits will apply depending on the shutter type. Tposts that are fitted horizontally can have shutters hinged to them so that they fold downwards.
