On my website you can find a shutter measuring guide for most window styles, these guides include technical drawings, templates of the different frames, instructions on measuring the window plus advice on out of level windows and angled windows etc.
The main windows covered are:
- Recessed windows
- Measuring outside the recess
- A combination of both inside and outside.
- Wooden sash windows
- Angled bay windows
- Sash bay windows
- UPVC bays
- Square bay windows
- Box bays
- Doubled glazed boxed bays
- Round bays
- French doors
- Patio doors
- Room dividers
- Round windows
- Angled windows
- Curved windows
There is also a specialist shutter measuring section where you can find out how to measure if you have skirting board, air vents or if you have tiles in the recess.
All of the guides have been split up into sections to make it easy to find the relevant instructions for your windows. Remember, at any time if you need help measuring just call or email us and we can answer any questions you might have.
The instructions cover a lot of detail in case you need it, but measuring a straightforward window is pretty easy, you just need measure in a few places across the width and height and check how square the window or door is.
Here is a video that explains how to measure:
