The finish on your wooden window shutters is important, and Sam has used his knowledge and experience of shutter manufacturing and fitting to select a product that has been professionally finished to ensure high quality.
All of the wooden shutter products have been finished with 6 layers of spray paint. This ensures an even shutter finish and colour, and also contains a UV inhibitor to prevent discolouration due to exposure to sunlight.
The Elite wooden shutter has a natural wood grain running through it and the texture is visible through the paint finish. The grain also enhances its appearance when stained.
The Basswood and Cedar wooden window shutters have a soft, narrow even grain running through them but the overall finish is smooth when painted, and cedar is available in an oiled finish which is beautiful and makes it a good choice if trying to match natural wood furniture or floors.
The spray paint finish is matt, not gloss and is similar to eggshell, although custom colours and finishes are available. While stained finishes have a slight sheen to them, oiled cedar is matt.
For stained products, the shutter manufacturer will ensure that all the materials used, including the wood selected for each part of the shutter, matches to make sure all the finished product looks excellent.
Every item is expertly finished with an excellent standard of craftsmanship and is then carefully packaged in made to measure packaging to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.
It is also worth making sure that prior to fitting your window area has been refurbished or any decorations are complete. For example, if you are thinking of replacing the window sill it is worth doing this prior to measuring and fitting to ensure that the fit is right and the overall appearance is professional and clean once completed.
